Cross Country 2011

Sarah is running cross country for the first time and improving dramatically each week.  She has ran in three meets thus far, her times and finishing positions have improved each week.  It is a blast to watch her compete.  Go Sarah!!

Brickyard

Rachel, Jake and Jayne joined me at the track, the very first Brickyard 400 for us.  It was very HOT, fortunately we spent more time in the hospitality suite then in the stands.

Track 2011 Sarah and Rachel

Both girls are doing an outstanding job in track this year.  Above Sarah has a huge lead in the 400m and Rachel leads at the end of an 800m race.  Both girls are having fun and getting better each week.  Even with all the travel this spring I have been able to see both girls run.

Moments for Change

Deb and I met in Indiana and have since been well traveled, two years in Connecticut, four years in Ohio, five years in Northern California, two years in Southern California, and another five years in Northern California. After the last 12 years in California, we now begin the process of heading back to Indiana. Another exciting chapter of life begins :)

The Happiest Place on Earth

We spent two amazing days at Disneyland on the 2nd and 3rd of Jan.  We have traveled to Disneyland several times but this time we were blessed with lots of rain and chilly temps.  The weather did a nice job of thinning out the crowds which resulted in very short lines on all of the rides.  The entire family stuck together had a great time.  Luke was in a great mood and we only lost him once, Jonathan found him waiting in the Astro Blasters line by himself :)

The Christmas of Lies

This is the first time I ever gave Deb something "used" for Christmas.  I saw this car setting on the lot for several weeks, even though it looks brand new it's 5 years old,  I negotiated the price for a couple of days which resulted in being out of the house for several hours in the days before Christmas.  The hard part was telling "white lies" OK lies, to Deb about my whereabouts to conceal the surprise.  In the end, we pulled off a very nice surprise and we were able to find a new owner for the old Toyota.

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a great day spending time together and enjoying some great food. Usually my deep fried turkey is the star of the show but Deb busted out an amazing roasted turkey this year that the winner of the best bird contest.

Rachel just watched this clip and said "Dad are you putting this on your blog?" I said yes and she said, "You're such a nerd" :)

Lions Finish The Year 9-3

The Lions finished the year 9-3 , with one impressive playoff win and ending the year with a tough battle with Brookside. The Brookside game had all you could ask for.... rain, many hard hits, and a little controversy to add to the fun. "This is our house..... I don't care!"

A great season and a strong finish to the year. Plus, one for the record books, first ever playoff win and the 2nd 9 win season in the school's history.

Personally I'm really going to miss the seniors, Nick, Luke, Andrew, Kyle, Kyle, Josh, Colton, Justin, etc, etc. I've known several of these kids since the first season of Sabre football almost 10 years ago.
Jon had another solid season 741 rushing yards (team best), 1782 career yards , 80 tackles (#2 on team) 165 career tackles, he was named All League Linebacker and was awarded the team's Most Inspirational Player.

On a more personal note, Jon's injury stats include a bruised kidney, a minor concussion, and one slightly separated shoulder. Time heals all wounds :)
